Terms of Use
These terms apply to Movie Night: Swipe & Match (“the app”), published by TroySoft (“we”). By using the app you accept them. If you downloaded the app from Apple’s App Store, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement also applies. Our Privacy Policy explains what data the app uses.
The service
The app lets the members of a group swipe through the same movies and series and shows the titles everyone liked. It is free, with no purchases, subscriptions or ads.
Movie and series information and posters come from TMDB. Ratings come from IMDb (used with permission) and, for Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic scores, from Wikidata. We don’t control this information: it can be incomplete or wrong. Age ratings are a guide, not a guarantee, and parents decide what is suitable for their children. The app doesn’t stream, sell or rent movies and doesn’t tell you where to watch them.
Who can use the app
You must be 13 or older to have an account. Children under 13 can only take part as a child profile that a parent creates and manages on the parent’s own phone. A parent who adds a child profile is responsible for the child’s use of the app.
Your account
The app creates an anonymous account for you on first launch, tied to your phone. If you lose the phone without linking a Google or Apple sign-in in Settings, the account can’t be restored. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account.
Fair use
- Use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.
- Nicknames, group names and child profile names must not be offensive or hateful, must not impersonate someone else, and must not contain other people’s personal details.
- Don’t try to access other people’s data, disrupt or overload the service, get around its limits, copy the catalogue in bulk, or reverse-engineer the server.
We may remove names or content and suspend or delete accounts that break these rules.
Third-party content and trademarks
This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Movie and series titles, posters, names and trademarks belong to their owners. Links to IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic and TMDB open those sites, which have their own terms.
Availability and changes
We work to keep the app running but can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, add or remove features. If we stop the service, we will tell you in the app in advance where we can.
Liability
The app is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by information from third parties. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.
Changes and governing law
If we change these terms, we update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app. If you keep using the app after a change, the new terms apply. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without taking away any protection that the consumer law of your country gives you.
